Featured here is my newest essay, "Table for One" that is featured in the Winter Edition of a Finland magazine. Yay! So grateful for the opportunity to share something I wrote while living in Lapua for the month of June at the Artist Residency.

I am inching closer and closer to FINALLY finishing my first collection of essays. Stay tuned for 2023!

Award Recipient

June 2022 | I’m incredibly grateful to Elsewhere & the West Elk Arts Fund for naming me as one of the 2022 Local Artist award recipients.

Lit Fest is an incredible Denver-based writing festival that offers hundreds of workshops, readings, and one-on-one sessions. In June, I was able to enjoy various workshops on memoir, travel writing, humor writing, personal essays, and network with writers from around the US. My appreciation is through the roof! Thank you, mucho!

BIG News

March 2022: In one year, your life can look strikingly different. So much can happen in a short period of time. You can evolve, and new paths can be presented with brand new possibilities. That's been the case for me these past twelve months. And I am so grateful for what's to come.

A year ago, I went back to school and in May of 2022, I will graduate with a Bachelors in Creative Writing & English (with honors). Then, in September 2022, I will embark on my next BIG adventure - starting my post-graduate studies (and possibly my doctorate) in Scotland. That's right - I'm moving to Scotland and changing my life. I'm beyond excited for this new adventure. Stay tuned. :)

Residency Announcement

December 2021: I just got back from an incredible writing residency in Iceland where I spent the month of November writing and exploring - myself and the southern Icelandic territory. I also spent a week in Stockholm, Sweden where I fell in love with the culture and people. Honestly, I didn't want to come back. :(

While in Iceland, I signed contracts for my next two writing  residencies for 2022! Yay! In Spring/Early Summer, I will be venturing to Turkey and Finland. I am so excited to continue working on my first full novel, a book of essays, while being inspired by these two incredible landscapes

New Article, HerStry

Nov 8, 2021: My period journey hasn't been easy nor has it always been approached with empathy and understanding from others. Sadly, the last year has been the worst. And my newest article, 'Just a Bad Period: How a Lifetime of Being Dismissed Led to Self-Advocacy' covers that journey.

I am proud that this article has found a home with HerStry - a favorite of mine.

New Allergy Article

July 2021 | My newest article, 𝐀𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐭-𝐎𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬: 𝐀 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐄𝐩𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 has just been published on FARE's (Food Allergy Research Education) blog.

Each week, I receive emails from people - from all over the world, who are struggling with adult-onset allergies. I may not always have the "right" answers for them, but I am happy to be a resource, or an additional support system, while they tackle their new allergy journey.

Feel free to share if you know anyone that may be interested. And don't hesitate to contact me for questions or comments.

May 2021: There is NO feeling like the feeling of holding a book in your hand that includes your poetry!

It is such an incredible honor to be one of the seventy-eight poets included in Aurora: Volume 2, The Allegory Ridge Poetry Anthology. In this collection, three of my pieces are featured; Secrets, American Tease, and A Girl Grows Up. These pieces are not only personal but reflect my journey through self-love, self-reflection, and family. I hope you enjoy them!

Stage: M*A*S*H

I am very excited to announce that I will be portraying Captain Bridget McCarthy in Magic Circle's Summer (21') production of M*A*S*H. Before COVID happened, I thought about taking a break from acting. It didn't seem to bring me joy or happiness anymore. However, by mid-Summer (2020), I was convinced that notion was nonsense! I cannot wait to be back on stage and with some of the best theatre friends a gal could ask for! More info: HERE

PowerStories Theatre

A BIG thank you to Powerstories Theatre for asking me to participate in their weekly story series.

I was asked to submit something for their Thanksgiving edition of Positively Powerstories, based on the theme of, 'grateful' or 'thankful.'

What I submitted, in less than 24 hours, was the video on the left. It's a shortened version of a post I made about my life a year ago; when I felt like I was never going to make it but now feeling grateful for those experiences and the new outlook it has given me. Enjoy!

ANNOUNCEMENT

November 2020

CRINGE 2020

June 25, 2020 - Tonight, my CRINGE episode aired on FB Live. CRINGE is where participants share their cringe-worthy journal entries, songs, poems, artwork, and more! Proof we all go through that very awkward adolescence stage. (Lord, help me!)

"For Felicia, eighth grade was the worst! During her "ugly duckling" phase, Felicia struggled between two very different worlds; one where she still loved the Rugrats & the other where she wanted a boyfriend - preferably with a Backstreet Boy. Between getting kicked off the basketball team & the drama of the school play, follow Felicia through her pre-teen journey to the other side, now."

Stadium Anthems - Indie Feature Film

10.31.18: A few years ago, me and my sister played goth sisters in an indie feature film, 'Stadium Anthems.' We had so much fun on set and we were so excited to FINALLY see the footage! "Thanks mom and dad!" lol

TEDx Talk - Video

My TEDx Talk, 'Embracing Our Humility to Expand Our Humanity,' has FINALLY been posted on Youtube! Whoohoo!

Watching this video, I am instantly transported back to that stage, earlier this year. I was nervous, mostly because I was opening the entire weekend but I also felt the pressure to be GREAT! I mean, come on, its TED!

There were a bevy of technical issues; the PowerPoint wasn't working & often would cause me to bounce around off script, and there were sound/recording issues. But, I have to say, I still think I did pretty darn good despite the issues! :) Hope you enjoy!

Welcome to Florida!

Picture
On August 1, we moved to Clearwater, Florida. Our second week in Florida we auditioned for, "I Hate Hamlet" at the Frances Wilson Playhouse. We really didn't think we would even have a chance at being cast (only 6 roles), and we were mostly just checking out the local theatre community but lo-and-behold, we were!

We're super excited to make our Florida debut in October. If you're in the area, come see the show!

CRINGE Performance

Words cannot express how proud I am of this amazing group of humans!

Our event, Cringe: A Night of Foolish Discourse on July 28th, was a HIT!  Eight participants, including me and Dane, bared our teenage hearts on the stage. The audience laughed, sometimes so hard that tears were made - buckets were needed.

Thank you to Sunshine Knight, Paradise Theatre, and everyone that made this event such a huge success!

CRINGE: A Night of Foolish Discourse

I am BEYOND excited for this event! Me and Dane are directing this unique show for Delta County! It's my last local event, as I am relocating to Florida and I hope to see many of you there.

If you've ever seen Mortified Nation on Netflix then you know exactly what this is. With our own unique twist, Cringe: A Night of Foolish Discourse is an event where participants will share their hilarious adolescent diaries, letters, music, and drawings with the audience. Side effects will include belly laughs and shuddering empathy.

Tickets are available now and we WILL sell out! We hope to see you there!
